ACS at Congress 2019 Program Update

We have released an updated program schedule:

On Sunday, June 2, there will be an opening plenary in the morning, followed by four workshops and a digital project showcase in the afternoon. For the morning plenary, we have invited elders, community leaders, and history holders to share their experiences and facilitate group discussions. For the afternoon workshops, we have invited teachers, students, and community workers to lead conversations on emotional labour, community collaboration, and Asian Canadian student experience.

The digital workshop with practicing filmmaker Alejandro Yoshizawa (“Using Digital Tools in Asian Canadian Studies”) will include hands-on activities. This workshop has limited spots and we encourage you to sign up as soon as possible.

The Roundtable on coalition building on Monday, June 3 will be facilitated by Chris Patterson (UBC Social Justice Institute) and Christine Kim (English, Simon Fraser University). The Archives panel on Tuesday, June 4 will centre on Asian Canadian materials at UBC’s Rare Books and Special Collections.

Please visit our Program page for event details. All our events are free and open to the public, but we encourage you to RSVP in advance to reserve your seats!
